Ingredients

1 pound butter 1/2 cup cornstarch 1 cup confectioners' sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract 3 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Cream the butter.
  3. Gradually add cornstarch, sugar and vanilla or almond extract.
  4. Add the flour. Whip mixture with an electric mixer until it looks like cream, about ten minutes. (The more you whip, the better they are.)
  5. Drop by spoonsful onto a cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  7. Decorate tops, if desired.
