Tips for Making Quick, Delicious Sweet Bread
- Use the Right Flour: All-purpose flour works well, but for a softer crumb, you can substitute a small portion with cake flour.
- Measure Ingredients Accurately: Use measuring cups and spoons for precise quantities, especially for sugar and flour.
- Incorporate Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh eggs, butter and flavorings like vanilla or cinnamon for the best taste.
- Don’t Over-mix: Mix the batter until just combined. Over-mixing can make the bread dense and tough.
- Use Good Quality Fat: Butter adds richness; melted butter or oil can also keep it moist.
- Add Fruits or Nuts: Incorporate dried fruits, chocolate chips or nuts for added texture and flavor.
- Preheat the Oven: Ensure your oven is fully preheated to the correct temperature before baking.
- Use Proper Baking Pan: Grease the baking pan well or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Check for Doneness: Insert a wooden pick into the center; it should come out clean when done.
- Let It Cool Slightly: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to prevent breakage.
