Ingredients

Scale
2 large sweet potatoes 1 tablespoon olive, coconut or avocado oil Suggested seasonings: salt and pepper, seasoned salt, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, cinnamon or thyme

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut into fries. For extra crispiness, soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before seasoning and baking, then dry thoroughly. Put into a large bowl.
  2. Heat the air fryer to 320 degrees F.
  3. Add the oil and desired seasonings to the bowl and, using clean hands, toss well until all surfaces of the potato are coated.
  4. Place in the air fryer basket.
  5. Cook for 15 minutes.
  6. Take out the fries and tip them back into the bowl you have been using. Toss them briefly and gently.
  7. Transfer fries back into fryer basket. Place back into air fryer, raise temperature on the machine to 350 degrees F, and cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Take out the fries and tip them back into the bowl you have been using. Toss them in there using a large spoon. You may notice a few that look done, just toss them back in with the rest anyway.
  9. Transfer fries back into fryer basket. Leave temperature unchanged. Roast for a final 5 minutes.
  10. Serve hot.
