Ingredients

Units Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (thawed or frozen) 2 cans cream of chicken soup 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter 1 (15-ounce) cans chicken broth 24 ounces frozen egg noodles 1 carrot, diced small (optional) 1/2 cup frozen peas (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook chicken, soup, butter and broth in slow cooker on LOW for 6 to 7 hours.
  2. Remove chicken from slow cooker and dice small or shred (it can easily be shredded with an electric mixer).
  3. Return chicken to slow cooker; add noodles and carrot, if using, and cook on LOW for 2 hours, stirring a few times while cooking. At 1 1/2 hours add the peas, if using.

Notes

If you don’t have frozen egg noodles, go ahead and use regular dry noodles, as shown, but they are not quite as good as the frozen.
