Singing Hinnies

The name “singing hinnies” is thought to come from the way the biscuits “sing” or make a cracking sound when they cooked over an open fire. Ours won’t sing as they’re baked in the oven!

Singing Hinnies recipe

“Singing hinnies” are traditional Scottish sweet biscuits that are known for their distinctive appearance and flavor. They are made from a mixture of flour, sugar, butter and fruit like currants or raisins. The dough is rolled out, cut into rounds, and then baked until golden. Sometimes, they are decorated with a dusting of sugar or drizzled with icing.
