Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced 1 envelope ranch seasoning mix 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese 1 cup sour cream 1/2 cup milk 2 tablespoons butter Salt and pepper to taste Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix sour cream, milk, ranch seasoning mix, salt and pepper.
  3. In the prepared baking dish, arrange a layer of sliced potatoes, then sprinkle with some cheese. Repeat layers until all potatoes are used.
  4. Pour the ranch sour cream mixture evenly over the layered potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 to 50 minutes, until potatoes are tender.
  7. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Top with chopped green onions if desired, and serve hot.
