Ingredients

3 strips bacon, cut into small pieces 2 small potatoes, cubed 2 small apples, cored, cubed 1 onion, julienned (optional) 2 pounds Polish sausage, cut in half or into pieces 3 teaspoons brown sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds 2 (27 ounce) cans sauerkraut 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1.   Fry bacon and Polish sausage until crisp; drain.
  2.   Add flour to drippings and blend well.
  3.   Stir in sauerkraut; mix well.
  4.   Place sauerkraut mixture, bacon and sausage pieces in slow cooker.
  5.   Add all other ingredients; stir together thoroughly.
  6.   Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.
