Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon clear vanilla or almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 1/2 cups colored miniature marshmallows
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained well
  • 1 (15 ounce) can mandarin orange segments, drained well
  • 1 cup red or green seedless grapes, halved
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained well and halved
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Stir sour cream.
  2. In a medium bowl, gently combine whipped topping, sour cream and vanilla or almond extract.
  3. Add coconut flakes and marshmallows.
  4. Gently fold in pineapple, mandarin oranges, grapes, maraschino cherries and nuts, if desired.
  5. Refrigerate, covered, for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

Our family prefers this with almond extract, although it is delicious with pure Mexican vanilla extract.
