Cornmeal Mush
Cornmeal mush is a traditional dish made from ground dried corn (cornmeal) cooked with water until it thickens into a porridge-like consistency. It is a versatile and comforting food that has been enjoyed in many cultures, especially in the Southern United States.

How Cornmeal Mush is Made
Cornmeal is slowly cooked with water and salt, to create a thick, smooth mixture.
The mixture is simmered until it thickens and develops a creamy texture.
It can be poured into a mold or dish to set and then cooled, or served hot directly from the pot.
How It is Used
- As a Breakfast: Served hot with butter and maple syrup or honey.
- Fried or Grilled: Once cooled and set, it can be sliced into pieces and fried or grilled until crispy on the outside.
- As a Side Dish: Accompanies meats, beans, or vegetables.
