Ingredients
Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Batter
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk or 1 cups milk + 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a loaf pans.
Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture
- In a small bowl mix the sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
Batter
- Cream together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla extract (if using).
- Add milk, flour and baking soda, and mix well.
- Put 1/2 of batter (or a little less) into the prepared loaf pan.
- Sprinkle 3/4 of Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture on top of the batter.
- Add remaining batter to pan; sprinkle with remaining Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture. Swirl with a knife.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 20 minutes before removing from pan.
