Serving Suggestions
- Seafood: Shrimp scampi, crab cakes, grilled salmon, or shrimp boils complement the cheesy bread perfectly.
- Soups and Stews: Creamy clam chowder, lobster bisque, or hearty stews like beef stew or chicken and vegetable soup.
- Salads: A fresh garden salad, Caesar salad, or a Caesar pasta salad balances the richness of the bread.
- Grilled Meats: Chicken, steak, or pork chops make a satisfying main course alongside Cheddar Bay Bread.
- Dips and Spreads: Serve with a side of spinach dip, artichoke dip, or a savory hummus for dipping.
How to measure flour
- Fluff up the flour.
- Sprinkle the flour into a dry-cup measure (the one that measures exactly 1 cup, 1/4 cup, etc. at the top).
- Scrape off the excess with a straight edge, such as a table knife.

- Remove the loaf from the oven and immediately brush the top with the garlic butter mixture.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before moving it to a wire rack to cool slightly.
Notes
We like to sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese over the top of the loaf about five minutes before the end of baking time.
