Sourdough Starter
This is the best sourdough starter I have ever made. Keep it fed, and keep it happy until you use it again, and again, and yet again!

How to Make Pumpkin Puree
You can use pumpkin puree in any recipe that calls for canned puree too. As a general rule, 3 pounds of fresh pumpkin will yield about 3 cups of mashed and cooked pumpkin. Here are four different methods for making puree.

Self-Rising Flour
If a recipe calls for self-rising flour and you only have all-purpose flour, here’s how you can make your own. You can use self-rising flour in yeast bread or roll recipes, but you’ll need to omit any salt called for in the recipe. If you use self-rising flour as a substitute for all-purpose flour in a quick bread or muffins, omit salt and baking powder and add 1 1/2 extra teaspoons of the self-rising flour for each cup of all-purpose flour. Self-rising flour does not contain baking soda, so when substituting for all-purpose flour add baking soda if it is an ingredient in the recipe.

Pan Release
Your cakes and cupcakes will release from the fanciest pans without leaving any flour residue when you use this Pan Release. They will come out “pretty as a picture!” This also works well for loaf pans when baking bread. It makes pan cleanup much easier!
