Side Dish

A side dish is a food item that accompanies the main course of a meal. It is typically served alongside the primary dish and complements its flavors, textures, and overall presentation. Side dishes can vary widely in type and preparation, ranging from vegetables, salads, and grains to potatoes, pasta, and breads. Examples include mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, rice and coleslaw.

Yorkshire Pudding is properly served with rare roast beef. It can also be used as a hot dessert and served with warm maple syrup.
