Southern Sweet Tea
It may have originated in the South, but this tea is beloved by all Americans. It’s our favorite summertime drink…well, perhaps in addition to lemonade.

Dill Weed Dip
This is an old standby recipe that I began making in the 60s. Time certainly hasn’t lessened my appreciation for it. It’s as good today as it was then! If desired, put the dip into a rye loaf for serving. Slice the top off a round loaf of rye bread and put aside. Pull the bread from the inside of the loaf, and tear into bite size pieces. Fill the inside of the loaf with the dip. Lean the bread top against the loaf when serving on a platter, surrounded by the bread pieces and raw vegetables. When the dip is gone, cut the loaf into small pieces and serve.

Linda’s Scattered Potatoes
Think of this as “nachos” with a potato base. This is my latest foodie invention, and our family loves it!

Iowa Spaghetti Sauce
When we were young, we looked forward to visiting my Aunt Anita in Muscatine, Iowa. She always had this ready for us when we arrived. We fought over the mushrooms so, over time, she added up to three times the amount of mushrooms called for! This is a very unusual and very tasty spaghetti sauce.

Kathryn’s Lasagna Soup
My sister Kathryn saw this served in a restaurant in Muscatine, Iowa. It looked soooo good. She combined several recipes to create this. It has become a favorite in our family.

Linda’s Easy Lasagna
This is my favorite lasagna recipe because you do not cook the lasagna noodles first. I have always disliked cooking the lasagna noodles, so this is a great solution for me. This turns out perfect every time.

Kentucky Hot Brown
The Kentucky Hot Brown, an open-face sandwich, originated at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, early in the 1900s. There are as many versions of the dish as there are cooks who make it. This is my favorite as it uses both turkey and ham. Use more bacon if you would like more than one slice on each sandwich. You can skip the 1/4 cup cheese over the tomatoes, if desired. We think it adds a nice extra touch. If you skip this step, just remove from the oven after 10 minutes and lay the tomato slices and bacon on top of the sandwich.

Pan Release
Your cakes and cupcakes will release from the fanciest pans without leaving any flour residue when you use this Pan Release. They will come out “pretty as a picture!” This also works well for loaf pans when baking bread. It makes pan cleanup much easier!
