    Beanie Weenies

    Beanie Weenies

Beanie Weenies have been a favorite for years. There are many different recipes for them. Some include Worcestershire sauce, some leave out the bacon. Turn heat to low, cover and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Sangre de Cristo Salsa

    Sangre de Cristo Salsa

In Spanish, it means “Blood of Christ.” You can add to or subtract from the ingredients according to your own personal taste. You may substitute canned fire roasted tomatoes or canned diced tomatoes for the fresh Roma tomatoes. A combination of red and white onion may be used. I do this quite often as it makes for very interesting color.

The zested lemon can be omitted from the topping, if desired. This is an older recipe calling for an 18.25 ounce box of cake mix. These cake mixes have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake…
