Smooth pumpkin butter is a welcome condiment during the holiday season.
2 (15 ounce) cans pumpkin purée (not pie filling) or 30 ounces Homemade Pumpkin Purée
1 cup apple juice
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
Pumpkin butter may be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week, or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Brown sugar gives it a more in-depth flavor, but an equal amount of granulated sugar may be substituted.
