Philly Cheesesteak Pasta recipe

Philly Cheesesteak Pasta is a delicious fusion dish that combines the flavors of a classic Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwich with pasta.

Ingredients

8 ounces penne pasta
1 1/4 pounds ground beef
2 tablespoons butter
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 (10.5 ounce) can French onion soup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/3 pound coarsely chopped provolone cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain well.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground bef.
  3. Add butter and mushrooms and cook until almost golden, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add onion and bell pepper, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes more.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in soup and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Salt and pepper to taste.
  7. In a small bowl make a slurry by whisking together cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water. Whisk the mixture into the skillet and cook for 2 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  8. Stir in pasta and cheese; cover to melt cheese.
