Cake 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup sour cream 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt Cinnamon Sugar Filling 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Honey Glaze 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar 2 to 3 tablespoons honey 1 to 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together sour cream, eggs, vanilla extract and softened butter.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry, mixing until just combined.
  5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Melt the butter and stir into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Spread half of the batter into the prepared dish. Sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Add the remaining batter on top and gently smooth it out.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Mix confectioners’ sugar, honey and enough milk to reach the desired consistency. Drizzle over the warm cake.
  10. Let the cake cool slightly before slicing.
