Gyros
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, oregano, cumin, paprika, coriander, onion powder, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
- Add the sliced meat and toss to coat evenly.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, ideally a few hours.
- Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
- Cook the marinated meat until crisply browned and cooked through, about 7 to 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the Cucumber and Yogurt Sauce.
Cucumber and Yogurt Sauce
Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly.
Assembly
- Warm the pita bread.
- Spread Cucumber and Yogurt Sauce on the bread.
- Add cooked meat, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and feta cheese, if using.
- Roll up and serve.
