Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti recipe

Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti is popular for its simple yet bold flavors, combining the sweetness of shrimp with the aromatic richness of garlic and herbs.

1 (12 ounce) package vermicelli or spaghetti 3/4 cup butter, divided 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper 4 garlic cloves, minced 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 cup reserved pasta water 1 (6 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained (optional) 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain well, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium high heat, melt two tablespoons butter. Add shrimp, salt and crushed red pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until shrimp is opaque pink, about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and garlic and cook until fragrant, about one minute.
  4. Turn off the heat, add the lemon juice, pasta water, mushrooms (if using) and Parmesan cheese, and stir to combine.
  5. Transfer the spaghetti to the skillet and toss with the sauce.
  6. Add the shrimp on top and garnish with more grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

To make a creamier sauce, use 1/2 cup pasta water and 1/2 cup milk.
