1pound fresh figs1/2cupgranulated sugar
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash of cinnamon (optional)
2 tablespoons water
Instructions
Cut the stems off the figs and discard.
Cut the figs into quarters.
Put all ingredients into a saucepan and stir.
Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is simmering.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.
