Brenden's Candied Sweet Potatoes

Is time a factor? These easy candied sweet potatoes are just as delicious as the more time-consuming recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 (40 ounce) can cut sweet potatoes; drained and syrup reserved
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup reserved syrup

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Place sweet potatoes in a shallow baking dish; set aside.
  3. Combine butter, brown sugar and syrup in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour sauce over sweet potatoes, and bake for 20 to 30 minutes.

Notes

Of course, you can boil your own sweet potatoes, then proceed with the recipe.
