Beanie Weenies

Beanie Weenies have been a favorite for years, especially with the children. In fact, I’m pretty sure this recipe was invented with the kiddos in mind. There are many different recipes for them. Some include Worcestershire sauce, some leave out the bacon. It’s a recipe that is begging for personalization.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (28-ounce) cans pork and beans*
  • 16 ounces all-beef hot dogs, sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 1 whole onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup light or dark brown sugar

Instructions

  1. If desired, fry the hot dogs pieces with a little diced onion before adding to the slow cooker. If you are using the slow cooker function on your Instant Pot, you can sauté the hot dog pieces and onion, then switch to slow cooker after adding the remaining ingredients.
  2. Add all ingredients to a 5 quart or larger slow cooker and stir to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours.
