Avocado “Butter” is wonderful for spreading on whole grain or sourdough toast. See below for more serving suggestions.

Ingredients

  • 3 large avocados
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Salad Supreme, to taste
  • Fine garlic powder, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare avocados and place the halves in a mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle liberally, or to taste, with the seasonings.
  3. Mash, blending seasonings well.
  4. Place in a storage container with a tightly fitting lid, and refrigerate.
  5. Serve spread on toasted whole grain or sourdough bread.

Notes

Of course, you can resize this recipe easily, using one or more avocados.

Seasonings of your choice may be substituted.

Store the avocado butter covered tightly in the refrigerator and use it within 3 to 4 days (even though with the lemon or lime juice, it will be good for up to 7 days).

There is no butter in this avocado “butter” recipe as the avocado is creamy and buttery itself. No butter is needed. This is not a compound butter, which starts with butter as the base ingredient.

Avocado Butter is rich and packed with nutrients and healthy fats.

All of the ingredients may be added to a food processor (we use our Ninja instead of the KitchenAid proessor) and blended until smooth. The ingredients, as shown, were simply blended with a table fork.
